LAHORE, May 23: A thunderstorm and rain lashed the city on Friday night, uprooting many trees and billboards.
The maximum gust of the storm was 64km per hour and it was coupled with moderate rain.
The storm also disrupted power supply in many areas, creating inconvenience for people. Streets too were plunged into darkness.
According to the Met office, many other cities in the province, including Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Gujranwala and Sheikhupura, also received rain that was coupled with dust storms.
The rain was being generated by a westerly system over the Northern Areas which will continue to persist for the next 24 hours.
The maximum temperature in Lahore was 37 degrees Celsius with 69 per cent humidity in the morning and 35 per cent in the evening. —Staff Reporter
