LAHORE, May 23: The Lahore High Court has directed the Aitchison College administration to pay all the dues to a former college teacher.
Petitioner Muhammad Sharif told court that he had served 30 years in the college as a Prep School teacher. He said he was forced to resign on March 23, 2005, because of the attitude of the college principal.
He said in 2003 he had filed a petition before the LHC demanding it to direct the college administration that his post should be upgraded with provision of Eid-ul-Fitr allowance since 2001 according to a notification issued by the government on January 2001.
He said the court had also restrained the administration from taking any unlawful or punitive measures against him.
On his petition, he said the court had directed the college’s board of governors to decide his matter, but it plainly rejected his application in its meeting on Dec 8, 2005.
He said as his juniors were being given all the benefits but the college management refused to give him his due, which was a discriminatory treatment.
The petitioner prayed to the court that the decision of the board of governors be declared unlawful and direction may be issued to it to redress his grievance.
