KARACHI, May 2: Twenty members of the Sindh assembly -- 13 belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and seven to Pakistan People’s Party — were sworn in as ministers here on Friday.
With the induction of these ministers, the strength of the Sindh cabinet has now reached 41, besides three advisers with the status of ministers.
Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad administered the oath at the Governor’s House. Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and PPP and MQM leaders attended the ceremony.
The MQM ministers and their portfolios are: Syed Shoaib Bukhari (Bureau of Supply and Prices), Adil Siddiqui (Public Health Engineering), Rauf Siddiqui (Industry and Commerce), Dr Saghir Ahmed (Health), Raza Haroon (Information Technology),
Faisal Subzwari (Youth
Affairs), S. Askari Taqvi (Environment and Alternate Energy), Abdul Haseeb (Auqaf), Zubair Ahmed Khan (Rural Development), Nadia Gabol (Human Rights) and Dr Mohammad Ali Shah (Sports). Shaikh Mohammad Afzal and Khalid bin Walayat will be ministers without portfolios.
The PPP ministers are: Makhdoom Jamiluzzaman, Zahid Hussain Bhurguri, Rafiq Engineer, Ali Nawaz Shah, Agha Taimur, Ali Mardan Shah and Dr Mohan Lal. However, a notification about their portfolios is yet to be issued.
