LONDON, March 22: Somerset batsman Marcus Trescothick announced his retirement from international cricket with England due to health problems on Saturday.
“My desire to play cricket is as strong as it ever was. But, due to the problems that I have experienced, travelling abroad has become extremely stressful for me,” he told Somerset’s website.
The 32-year-old left-handed opener, who played in 76 Tests and 123 One-day Internationals, had not played for England since 2006 after struggling with the effects of a stress-related illness which forced him to come home early from two tours.—Reuters
