KARACHI, March 22: Fancied five-year-old bay The Conqueror’s who is on course for a hattrick is the day’s best bet in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi racecourse on Sunday.
His last two runs are true indicators of his form and suggest that he should cross the finishing post ahead of eight runners barring last minute withdrawls.
The Conqueror’s posted a facile 10 lengths victory under rider Kashif Qamar in the last run on March 5.
He is likely to be chased by chestnut Terrorist and colt Discreet Cat for the following two places.
A card which envisaged nine races including two cups has been drawn for the day. The first race gets into action at 12.30pm.
Four-year-old bay filly Diamond In Dust who failed to come up to the mark in the last outing is tipped to make amends by landing the prized The Pakistan Day Cup, a handicap race for Pakistani horses of three years and upward.
Filly Moomal and mare Savabeel should battle it out for the places among seven contenders.
Five-year-old chestnut Sindh Malook from the stables of KRC Administrator Ghulam Dastagir Rajar looks a good thing in a strong field of 17 runners and should oblige punters by capturing The Pakistan Ginning Association Cup.
Though he has failed to figure on the board since long but if allowed to run on merit, he may overcome the bad patch.
The Ghazan Prince and Moon Baby should follow Sindh Malook in the places.
Blossom, a three-year-old filly, is expected to present owner Kamal Farooq with yet another winner when she makes her first appearance at this course.
She has recently arrived from Lahore after winning honours on the Derby day.
Mukhtadar, Dr Dang, Blind Date, Star Of Galaxy and Sher Khan should dominate the first five races.
