Zoology congress Emphasizes innovation

FAISALABAD, March 20: A three-day international Congress of Zoology concluded on Thursday at the Government College University, Faisalabad.

The Pakistan Society of Zoology (PSZ) and GCUF organised the event which was attended by scholars from different parts of the world.

Addressing the concluding ceremony, GCUF Vice-Chancellor Dr Arif Ali Zaidi said sparkling enthusiasm of youngsters in the congress reflected that they had potential to explore new horizons.

“It’s the sole responsibility of all senior teachers to provide them guidance for a bright future and we have to do this.”

He appreciated the students’ presentations regarding different disciplines.

Dr Zaidi said in order to cope with the challenges of modern era, there should be something innovative and “it’s the youth who could perform this task under the guidance of teachers.”

Dr Shahid Mahmood Rana, organiser of the event, said the congress covered all major areas of Zoology and related disciplines, including bio-informatics, environmental biotechnology, bioremediation, genetics, toxicology, parasitology, microbiology, entomology and pest management cell biology, molecular biology, physiology, paleontology, wildlife conservation, fisheries, fresh water biology, environmental biology and marine biology. He also thanked the participants and members of the organising committees to make the event a success.

PSZ President Dr A R Shakoor also spoke on the occasion.
