KARACHI, March 18: The capital city police officer (CCPO) Karachi, Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui, has directed the DIGs of all the three zones of Karachi, SSP Security, all town’s SPs, SPOs and SHOs to check the guards deployed at the city’s important installations and places on a daily basis and monitor their performance.

He told them to further improve their deployment in consultation with the local administration and submit a report about their performance to him.

The CCPO instructed the relevant officials to review the deployment of security guards at all important schools, hotels, restaurants, tourism sites and other public places.

He made it clear that he would personally visit various areas on a daily basis to monitor the performance of the security guards.

Committee formed

The government of Sindh has constituted Provincial Implementation and Monitoring Committee under the scheme Special Programme for Food Security and Productivity Enhancement of Small Farmer in 1,012 Villages (Crop Maximization Project-II) as per umbrella PC-I of federal-funded project, with the following composition:

The secretary agriculture department will act as chairman and director-general (Agriculture Extension), director-general (OFWM), director-general / director (Livestock), director-general / director (Fisheries), registrar cooperatives, EDO Agriculture (one from each project district), an expert from a university / college of agriculture, an expert from a research institute, representative of RSPN, Co-opt any other members as necessary will be its members; while provincial project director will be as member/secretary.

The terms of reference are: The committee will be responsible for all implementation arrangements, review quarterly plans and progress and ensure achievement of given targets; and the committee will review the progress of the project, provide technical guidance, and will ensure the grass-roots level controlling mechanisms and removal of obstacles encountered in way of efficient implementation of the project in close collaboration with the Federal Monitoring and Coordination Unit (FMCU).—Agencies
