KARACHI, March 13: Six vessels carrying steel, containers and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was light as only three ships, Hyun Kin-Ks-3 to offload bulk cargo, Jurong Bebaru and Filippa to unload and load containers were berthed on Thursday after the departure of eight.
The ships which departed on Thursday included Helenc Rickmers, APL Brisbane, Soon Fu, Tenth Ocean, Johar, Bow Lion, Lucky Arrow and Al-Kortoubi, while Jurong Bebaru, Filippa, Shaheen Al-Ghanim-10,Zhen Hua-5, Hyun Jin Ks-3 and Don Franc Bulic are due to sail out on Friday.
A total tonnage of 88,330 tons comprising 46,478 tons of export cargo and 41,852 tons of import tonnage was handled on Thursday.
The following ships are due on Friday: Sp Eric C. Gibson, Y.M. Improvement, and Kita Puri with containers, Lady Tramp with 12,700 tons of DAP Fertilizer, Eastmed Carrier to load 12,700 tons of cement and Asean Sea-01 with steel cargo.
