KARACHI, March 2: The National Transport Ittehad has threatened to raise fares of public transport by March 6 if a recent decision about increase in prices of petrol and diesel is not withdrawn within the next 72 hours.
In a statement issued on Sunday, National Transport Ittehad Chairman Saleem Khan Bangash said that the caretaker set-up was not authorised to raise oil prices. He said that it would be in the fitness of things that the decision is left for the next government.
The NTI warned that if the raise announced was not taken back, they would be compelled to enhance fares of buses, minibuses, coaches and inter-provincial public transport.—PPI
