SARGODHA, Feb 13: In order to eradicate subversive elements, we should enhance the rate of literacy and excel in the field of science and technology, said Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Khalid Maqbool while addressing at the foundation laying ceremony of Sargodha Medical College, a constituent college of the University of Sargodha.
Mr Maqbool said Pakistan had potential to excel in all walks of life but it only needed devotion. He said the Sargodha University was set up in Sargodha so that it benefited surrounding districts Jhang, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar and Mandi Bahauddin. He said the medical college would be a well-equipped complex where every all sort of facilities would be available.
The governor said the regime had given top priority to health and education. He said he would help the college financial assistance and land for a teaching hospital and a university staff residential colony. He said he wanted to see the Sargodha University the world best institution. He also announced a Rs400 million grant for the University College of Agriculture.
