SUKKUR, Feb 10: A large number of growers belonging to Kandhra and other villages staged a protest demonstration in front of Kandhra press club on Sunday against water scarcity in Patni Minor for two months.

They were led by Syed Bahadur Ali Shah, Qadir Bux Buriro and others who shouted slogans against irrigation officials and demanded water.

Talking to newsmen, they said there was no water in the Patni Minor for the last two months which was damaging wheat crop.

They accused the department of demanding gratification for releasing water, they threatened to encircle office of the chief engineer irrigation.—BoC
