HYDERABAD: Women relatives of Babul Khan, who was allegedly gunned down by police, have appealed to the president of Pakistan, superior judiciary and senior police officers to get an FIR registered against the ‘killer cops’.
Babul, son of Atta Hussain Khan, was killed at 11pm on the first of Muharram at a roundabout in Khanpur Mahar, Ghotki district. The police said that Babul was a dacoit.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Friday, the sisters of the deceased, Aasiya, Nazia and a cousin Farzana alleged that Babul, 22, was gunned down by SHO Aijaz Memon and constable More on the pretext that he was dacoit.
They said that it was an extra- judicial killing and police had refused to register FIR against the policemen involved in the murder.
FILTER PLANT: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has said that with the construction of Paretabad filter plant, 250,000 people of Paretabad, American Quarters, Zeal Pak Society, Gulshan-i-Hali and adjoining areas will get filtered water.
He said the filter plant had been built at a cost of Rs350 million which was the long standing demand of the people of these localities. He said this during a visit to the newly constructed filter plant and the near completion Hala Naka filter plant.
