KARACHI, Dec 31: The chairman-elect of All-Pakistan Textile Mills Association, Iqbal Ebarhim, has urged the government to immediately deploy adequate number of law-enforcers for protection of life and property of businessmen as well as citizens.

In a statement, the Aptma leader said the out-break of serious law and order situation in the last four days has resulted in destruction of property, loss of human life and intense damage to machinery, equipment and infra structure of the industry.

“The situation, if not immediately checked, will have alarming impact on industrial production, trading activities, besides cancellation of export orders,’’ he warned while pointing out that the industry as a whole and textile, in particular, was already passing through a period of serious crisis.
