RAWALPINDI, Dec 20: A villager selling sacrificial animals was shot and injured by two robbers near Trate on Wednesday, while eight vehicles were taken away from different parts of the city during the last 24 hours, police said.
Mohammad Jaleel complained to the police that two unidentified persons came to him and asked him to hand them over two animals. On his refusal, the robbers opened fire at him. The injured was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition.
Meanwhile, a car (JH-689) was stolen in New Town and another (KT-259) was taken away from the Waris Khan area. A motorcycle (LRE-9587) was lifted from Sadiqabad and another (LDA-196) taken away from the City police area. Rafiq Rashid’s motorcycle (LZH- 6583) and another bike (RLF-5869) were lifted from Banni area.
Two cars - LFB-1704 and J-914 - were stolen in Westridge and Pirwadhai areas, respectively.
ACCUSED SHIFTED: Two handcuffed persons with their faces covered with masks were shifted to Karachi from Islamabad airport amid tight security, Dawn has learnt.
A source said the two persons were brought to the airport amid tight security and were boarded on a scheduled flight through the Rawal Lounge. The identities of the persons, believed to be high profile accused, were not known.
