KHAR, Dec 15: The Bajaur Agency political administration in consultation with candidates contesting the Jan 8 election decided on Saturday to set up polling stations at safe places to ensure peaceful conduct of the vote.

The decision was taken at a meeting with Political Agent and Returning Officer Shafirullah Khan in the chair.

The meeting decided that the number of polling stations would be reduced in order to make the holding of election a success.

Candidates for NA-43 and NA-44 suggested various measures for the safety of voters.

The political agent said that the local administration would extend all out cooperation to the Election Commission.

Shafirullah Khan said that a limited number of polling stations would be set up at ‘certain’ locations to avoid any untoward incident.

The meeting decided that the candidates would provide transport to voters on the polling day.
