HYDERABAD, Dec 6: Political parties have been advised by the caretaker Sindh Chief Minister (Rtd) Abdul Qadir Halepota to contact him in case they face any difficulties regarding general elections.
He said this to journalists after luncheon given by caretaker Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Syed Jalal Shah Jamote at Matiari on Wednesday.
To a question, he categorically denied of making a single appointment or transferring of any officer and said such orders were issued before he took the oath.
He said the Election Commission’s instructions would be followed in black and white and if anybody was found deviating, he’ll be taken to task.
Earlier, speaking at luncheon, Halepota exhorted the people to exercise their rights to franchise in January 8 elections and also motivate their families and friends to vote, saying it was essential for the promotion of democratic norms.
“Like in developed countries, people of Sindh should also elect those striving for progress and prosperity of the country,” he said.
It was the duty of caretaker government to ensure fair and impartial elections acceptable to masses, said the caretaker CM. “It’s our duty to ensure transparent elections as none of the caretaker ministers are affiliated with any political parties,” he said.
Halepota announced Rs10 million grant for improvement of sewerage system of Matiari and directed District Nazim Syed Mohammad Ali Shah Jamote to prepare PC-I for the development of the district.
The caretaker government during its short tenure will try to resolve basic problems of rural areas such as water supply, sewerage and health, he said.
Jalal Shah Jamote had requested the caretaker CM to approve a development package for Matiari district.
