LONDON, March 28: The chairman, Board of Investment, Waseem Haqie held a meeting with Chief Executive, UK Trade Department, Sir David Wright to discuss further strengthening of trade relations between the two countries and briefed him on investment opportunities in Pakistan.
David Right appreciated the economic reforms introduced by the government for revival of the economy, Waseem Haqie told APP after his meeting on Wednesday.
Waseem Haqie arrived here on Wednesday morning to begin his 3-day visit to meet both British and overseas Pakistanis to brief them on the lucrative investment opportunities in Pakistan. Haqie said, he urged them to play their role in improving image of the country which is far removed from the reality on the ground.
During his meeting with David Right, he gave him a full review of the various measures taken by the government to improve the economy and told him about the positive impact it had on improving the credit rating of the country.
Haqie will also meet with other UK investors and Pakistani businessmen today and urged them to utilize the investment opportunities in Pakistan.
Pakistan High Commissioner to UK Abdul Kader Jaffer, hosted a dinner in his honour today where he would have another chance of meeting both British and Pakistani investors.
He will later leave for Manchester to meet Pakistani investors and brief them on existing avenues of investment.—APP
