ISLAMABAD, March 24: Nearly 80,000 Afghan refugees have returned home from Pakistan since March 1, quoting United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Voice of America reports.

Thousands of refugees are crossing daily into Afghanistan from Pakistan since the start of the repatriation programme, said the high commissioner.

According to a report a UNHCR spokesman said that the advantage of the programme is that donor countries are providing large scale financial assistance which encourages the refugees to return home.—APP
