KARACHI, Nov 6: Residents from a large number of localities across the city complained of prolonged power breakdowns on Tuesday.
Some of the areas had no power supply for as many as 10 hours and beyond. The worst affected areas included parts of Clifton, Defence Housing Authority’s Phase V, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Garden East and West, Shadman Town, Shah Faisal Colony, Qayyumabad, Akhtar Colony, and Korangi’s Bihar Colony, Bhitai Colony and Altaf Town.
A KESC official blamed the widespread outages on “routine faults, which sometimes occur due to power shortage and overloading,” and maintenance work.
In Defence Phase V, two feeders had tripped, he said.
