LARKANA, March 23: Cases against at least 50 people were registered with the Mirokhan police for taking out a procession without permission and raising objectionable slogans against rival sect.
The SHO, Mirokhan police station, has lodged an FIR under sections 188, 295-A and 6/7 of the ATO alleging that around 50 persons took out a procession on Friday from local Imambargah without permission and raised slogans against rival sect.
Those nominated in the FIR include Hub Ali Babbur, Ashique Jatoi, Saleh Leghari, Arbab Bhatti, Abdul Majeed Machhi, Abdul Ghafoor Junejo, Ghulam Serwar Shaikh, Habibullah Shaikh, Ayoub Shaikh, Lutufullah Shaikh, Niaz Junejo, Mukhtiar Magsi, Abdul Waheed Korai, Shahid Abro and Azim Bhatti.
SECURITY: The district police has chalked out an elaborated security plan for Ashura and declared 27 areas of the district sensitive.
Under special arrangements to maintain law and order, extensive deployment has been made at the areas known for tension during Ashura.
The areas declared sensitive include Larkana City, Mirokhan, Badah, Shahdadkot, Mahi Makool, Mahota, Wagan, Dhamrah, Ratodero, Gaji Khuhawar, Drigh, Behram, Sujawal and Hatri Ghulam Shah.
BHANG: Larkana excise police seized a huge quantity of Bhang being transported to Karachi and arrested two alleged traffickers with a truck here on Saturday.
Acting on a tip off, excise inspector Abdul Hafeez Qureshi halted a truck (AB-0024) near the new bus terminal.
On search at least 3,200 kilograms of Bhang packed in sacks were recovered from the vehicle coming from Quetta.
Samad Khan and Abdullah were arrested and nominated in the FIR registered under section 34 PPC.
The truck used in the crime was impounded.
