Woman, son commit suicide

GUJRANWALA, Oct 20: A woman and her minor son on Saturday committed suicide by taking poisonous pills in Usman Town, Kamoke.

Reports said that Shazia was dejected due to extreme poverty and swallowed pills along with her children, Ghulam Abbas (4) and Maryam (3). The area people rushed them to the Kamoke THQ Hospital where Shazia and her son died. The bodies were later handed over to their heirs.

ALLOCATED: The Punjab government has allocated Rs800 million for setting up four more degree colleges for boys in all tehsil headquarters.

It is learnt on Saturday that the allocation for the degree colleges has been made on the demand of the ruling party MPAs and office-bearers as, according to them, this will leave a far-reaching impact on their election campaign.

The source reveals that these colleges will be established in Naushera Virkan, Wazirabad, Kamoke and Gujranwala.
