HYDERABAD, March 20: The activists of the Awami Tehrik, city chapter, led by Noor Nabi Rahujo, observed a token hunger strike outside the press club against a landlord, Rasheed Chandio, and the SITE police, Hyderabad.
Talking to newsmen Mr Rahujo said that the feudallord was a harbourer of criminals and a police tout. He alleged that under his patronage crimes were being committed in Hyderabad, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Nawabshah and other districts.
He further said that under the patronage of SITE police he was protecting the criminals and implicating poor people in false cases.
He demanded that the feudallord be arrested and action be taken against the SITE police. He also distributed a pamphlet against him.
SEA: Thirty one employees of the Sindh government including, professors, high school and primary teachers and lower staff members , continued their hunger strike outside the press club on the third consecutive day here on Wednesday.
They have been protesting against the non-acceptance of their demands by the Sindh government.
SRTC: Hunger strike by the former employees of the SRTC entered the 17th day here on Wednesday.
They have been protesting against the non-payment of their outstanding dues, including payment of mark-up as per written agreement signed by the Sindh government with the workers’ representatives.
They announced that the former employees of the corporation from all over Sindh would hold a big protest demonstration outside the press club on March 30.
PARIHAR GOTH: A large number of women and children along with a few men held a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday.
They raised slogans against Mir Fateh Ali Talpur.
With tears in their eyes Anwar Parihar, Mazhar Parihar and Begum Parihar said that they were the owners of 703 acres of land in the Deh Giddu Bandar but through forged documents the Mirs were trying to take over the possession of their ancestral property.
They further said a case was pending in the court of law and alleged that the Mirs had already sold out 1.25 acres of land to a builder in survey No.451 although the case had not been decided by the court.
They said that the Mirs had hired people who had staged protest demonstration against them on Tuesday.
They warned that if justice was not restored, the Parihar community would stage a protest demonstration outside the Ewan-e-Sadar Islamabad and resort to collective suicide.
SPSC: The Sindh Public Service Commission Hyderabad announced the names of eligible candidates who were interviewed by the Commission for the post of Lecturer/Subject specialist in Economics BPS-17 in education department, government of Sindh.
The Commission has recommended the names of 17 male and 9 female candidates to the government for their appointment.
PRESENTATION: A presentation on horizontal drilling technique with regard to sewerage problems of Hyderabad city was made by Vedat Mirmahmuto-Gullari Agriculture Engineer and member of the executive Board of the Dizayn Group Turkey in circuit house here on Tuesday.
Mr. Vadat with the help of slides spoke at length on the horizontal technique and later along with officials and technical staff of HDA/WASA visited various sites in the city and observed the sewerage systems
Killings of doctors deplored:: The representative of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences and its attached hospitals, LMC Graduates Association, PMA, Sindh, and its Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Kotri, Tando Jam, Hala New and Tando Mohammad Khan chapters, at a joint meeting held here on Tuesday, deplored the target killings of doctors during the past few days in Karachi.
The meeting offered Fateha for the departed souls and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
