KARACHI, Sept 17: Ahmed Shahzad struck an unbeaten 77 as Lahore Ravi reached 131 for four after bowling out Karachi Harbour for 200 on the first day of the three-day PCB Inter-regional Under-19 Cricket Championship fixture at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground on Monday.
The opener, who hit 11 fours and one six in his 79-ball, held together the Lahore Ravi first innings after a fine start. Ahmed and Jumma Khan (30) put on 85 for the opening stand before four wickets fell for the addition of 15 runs.
Slow left-armer Amjad Manzoor claimed three for nine in seven fours.
Earlier, Ammar Hasan (75 off 123 balls, 12 fours) and Jabbar Khan (52 off 102 balls, seven fours) were the main scorers for Karachi Harbour.
Mohammad Sharif, the Hyderabad slow left-armer, grabbed five for 82, but despite his efforts Lahore Shalimar still managed to post a healthy 317 in their first innings.
Karachi Urban were strongly placed after restricting Quetta to a modest 145 in their game at the Bugti Stadium in Quetta. The star for the visitors was leg-spinner Shahzaib Khan who captured six for 27 in 14 overs. Karachi Urban ended the day at 120 for four.
