HYDERABAD, Sept 16: A group of peasants freed from a private jail of a landlord of Shadi Pali, Umerkot, held a protest demonstration here on Sunday.

They were demanding payments for the labour they had done.

The demonstration was led by comrade Soomar, activist of Peace and Human Rights Trust, and Maroo, a peasant. They told journalists that they had cultivated lands of the landlord for seven years but he never paid them their share of crops.—PPI
