PESHAWAR, March 16: Provincial chief of the Pakistan People’s Party, Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti, has condemned the police action against the PPP leaders and workers, protesting against the Thal canal project in Karachi.

In a statement, Hoti criticised the police violence on the women participants of the protest rally and the massive arrests of party leaders and workers.

He alleged that the military government wanted to postpone the elections by disturbing the political situation. The worst violence perpetrated on the PPP leaders and workers had exposed the dictatorial attitude of the rulers, he said.—Bureau
