KARACHI, Sept 10: Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Rauf Siddiqi said here on Monday that development work at Gorakh Hill tourist resort in Dadu district had stopped because of the landslides caused by recent rains.
Addressing a press conference after discussing the status and progress of the work on this project at a meeting, he spoke of many options, including blasting, for the removal of mounds.
Gorakh is located 80 kilometres from Dadu at a height of 6,000 feet. Due to the landslides between two hills at the site during rains a few months back, the development work had come to a standstill, it was observed.
According to him, a 1,000-foot portion of the road leading to the tourist resort was blocked as a result of which the personnel working at the project site were facing great hardship.—APP
