ISLAMABAD, Sept 9: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Sunday that the government would act according to law in the case of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif.

“They (the Sharif brothers) will be treated according to the law. Law will take its course. Pakistan is a country where the Constitution is in place and that will be followed in this case”, he said in an interview with Sky News television channel.

The prime minister said the president had stated repeatedly that he would follow the country’s Constitution. He said the country’s Constitution allowed President Musharraf to remain in uniform till the end of this year, adding, however, that any decision in this respect would be taken by the president himself.

Asked about the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden, the prime minister said “nobody knows where he is,” and if anyone knows about him he would have been going after him.

He termed as mere “speculations” reports of Osama bin Laden’s presence in some remote border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan and said “there was no credible and tangible information about him.”

“The whole world is looking for him and when we will have any credible information about him, we will act promptly,” he added.

The prime minister mentioned the recent release of Osama’s video-tape but rejected the assumption that he might be along the Pakistan-Afghan border areas.—APP
