The minister said that special funds are provided to the towns from the Sindh Devolved Social Services Programme for the purchase of garbage lifting equipment and other machinery. This equipment will have a visible impact on the overall cleanliness situation of various towns, he added.
He said that UCs should also focus their attention on routine cleanliness through the proper utilisation of sanitary staff and sweepers and to take steps for physical verification of the staff employed with them.
The minister said that all towns should follow the example of Korangi Town and establish transfer centres for garbage lifted from the entire town before shifting it to landfills.
Earlier, he inaugurated a complaint call centre in Korangi Town and said that this facility would benefit the town in resolving problems and catering to any emergency.
