KARACHI, Aug 23: All the mainstream Baloch nationalist parties have decided to observe Aug 26, the first death anniversary of Jamhoori Watan Party chief Nawab Akbar Bugti, as a black day.

The black day call has been given by the Balochistan National Party, National Party, Jamhoori Watan Party and Baloch Students Organization (BSO).

The day will be observed in Balochistan and in other parts of the country including Karachi as a mark of protest against the ongoing military operation in Balochistan by holding rallies and processions.

In Karachi, the Baloch Unity Conference (BUC) has also planned to stage a rally in Chawkiwara, Lyari Town, which will be addressed by nationalist leaders.

Nawab Akbar Bugti was killed in a commando action on Aug 26 last year, in a cave in Kohlu, about 150 miles east of Quetta.
