KARACHI, Aug 21: The director-general colleges (Sindh) has recommended to the senior authorities of the Sindh education department to take action against the principal of a college for ‘misconduct’ under the Efficiency and Disciplinary Rules 1971.
In a report to the education secretary, the DG colleges wrote that an associate professor of Islamic Studies and principal of Quaid-i-Millat Government Degree College, Karachi, had stopped the salary of an assistant professor of political science, Zahid Ahmed, after the latter was assigned to work in the office of the directorate-general of colleges.
“The principal did not relieve Prof Zahid Ahmed and did not cooperate with the director-general’s office, despite the latter asked him through an office order to release his salary, which has not been released for four months,” says an official report.
The director-general recommended the principal’s posting outside Karachi and debarring of the principal from holding any administrative post in future.
