MULTAN, Aug 12: Chemists held a protest demonstration against Punjab Drug Rules 2007 here on Sunday at Clock Tower Chowk.
The protesters, led by Multan Wholesale Chemists Council president Sheikh Ikram Shehzad, blocked the road and chanted slogans for the withdrawal of rules.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shehzad said the new regulations would be economically disastrous for chemists.
He said chemists would not accept one-sided amendments to drug rules. He said the Punjab government had changed the drug rules without consulting them.
Mr Shehzad said they would set up huger-strike camps and hold demonstrations in each city of Punjab till the withdrawal of the new regulations. — Correspondent
