PESHAWAR, Aug 8: The Public Accounts Committee of the NWFP Assembly on Wednesday censured government departments for delaying their working papers and directed them to present the papers at least 15 days before the PAC meeting.

The directives were issued by the PAC chairman and speaker Bakht Jehan during a meeting of the committee. The financial statements of the agriculture, livestock and cooperative, higher education, schools and literacy, Auqaf, minority affairs and Haj departments for the year 2003 were scrutinised in the meeting.

The committee observed that some government departments had failed to present their working papers on time.—APP
