LAHORE, Aug 8: The Kissan Board of Pakistan (KBP) has demanded of the State Bank of Pakistan to issue credit line of Rs8 billion for Punjab Provincial Cooperative Bank Limited (PPCBL) to protect interests of farmers.

Blocking of money to PPCBL would be against the interests of farmers, said President KBP Sardar Zafar Hasnain Khan and General Secretary Jam Hazoor Bukhsh in a statement here on Wednesday.

They were of the view that farming sector was facing acute shortage of funds and the PPCBL was among the main loan providers to this sector.—APP
