KARACHI, Aug 8: Islamic bankers on Wednesday said that Pakistan may receive huge investments from the Gulf states which were currently exploring opportunities for investing their oil-generated liquidity in developing countries.

The optimistic views were expressed during the logo unveiling ceremony of the 3rd WorldAsia Islamic Capital Conference (WAIC) 2007 which would be held in November with an expected participation by 100 institutions from world.

The theme of this conference is ‘Islamic Finance Delivering of Market Expectations’.

Islamic banking has three per cent share of the total banking in the country, but the bankers were confident that the fast growth and inflows from the Gulf countries would change the scenario.
