NAWABSHAH, Aug 1: Members of Sindh Graduates Association took out a rally and staged demonstration against increasing crime, open sale of narcotics, and illegal transport stands in Qazi Ahmed, on Wednesday.
The rally started from the National Highway and ended at the Qazi Ahmed Press Club with protesters carrying placards and raising slogans.
Hakim Otho, Khan Mohammad Unnar, Haji Khan Lakho, Dadan Jam Unnar and others said drugs were being sold openly in every Mohalla destroying the health and morale of today’s youth.
They said there were illegal transport stands on roads making a nuisance for public and traffic. Law and order was deteriorating as dacoity and theft incidents were on the rise.
They blamed police and district administration for failing to improve law and order and demanded the DPO and other concerned authorities to take notice of it.
BOOKED: Police booked 50 persons, including an SHO and official of the PTCL for creating law and order and damaging a vehicle during demonstration on Wednesday.
Mohammad Dahiri lodged an FIR with the A-Section Police under section 114, 506, 427, 504 PPC and 337 A-1 QSS against SHO Aliabad Police Station, Sub-Inspector Basharat Mallah, a PTCL official Mohammad Juman Mallah, Mohammad Bux Parhiar,
Abdul Sattar Mallah and 45 others, stating they abused and beat him and also smashed glasses of his vehicle (LHO-9474).
