QUETTA, Aug 1: The Pakistan Diploma Engineers Federation has urged the government to implement the rules which promote sub engineers on 45 quota-based posts. Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, president of the body Noor Zaman Kakar alleged that some local government officials were trying to reduce the quota that would deprive the government employees of their promotions.
He claimed that the chief minister had upheld their stance on the issue and had directed the local government departmental secretary to decide the case in accordance to the rules and regulations. But some officials in the department were not to carrying out the orders of the chief minister.
He said that some sub engineers in the local government had been serving the department for the last twenty years and if their quota was reduced then these officials would retire as sub engineers instead of getting a promotion.
Mr Kakar warned that if the government did not accept their demands then they would launch a protest.
