CAIRO, March 8: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal labelled this “Black Friday” as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict marked its deadliest day since 1987.

“We have held an exceptional meeting because of the massacres held in the course of this day, which should be called ‘Black Friday’,” he told reporters.

Representatives of the 22-member Arab League had gathered at their Cairo headquarters to discuss plans for settling the 17-month conflict. Topping the agenda was a peace initiative proposed by Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdel Aziz—AFP
