LAHORE, July 20: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi says the existing assemblies will re-elect President Pervez Musharraf which will further strengthen the national economy. In a handout issued here on Friday, the chief minister said the election strategy had been finalised in Punjab’s 27 districts, and the ruling PML would contest the election along with its allies from its own platform.
He was addressing members of national and provincial assemblies, nazims and PML office bearers of Jhang at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat here on Friday.
He said the opposition had been engaged in negative politics during the last four-and-a-half years and done nothing for the masses.
Record funds, he said, were being spent on education, health, agriculture, industrial and infrastructure development owing to which the pace of socio-economic development had accelerated.
Federal Environment Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat, Minister of State for Education Ghulam Bibi Bharwana, PML District President Sheikh Yaqoob and Jhang District Nazim Hamid Sultan were also present.
