ISLAMABAD, July 20: Dramatic increase in sale of sweets was witnessed on Friday after the Supreme Court reinstated Chief Justice Mr Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

Almost all the well-known bakeries in the federal capital saw a sudden increase in their sale soon after the verdict was announced.

Right from the courtroom to the drawing rooms and offices, the decision was welcomed with the distribution of the various types of sweets.

“We saw a sudden increase in our sale in the afternoon. Such sale is unusual on a normal day,” said Qmar who works at the United Bakery in Super Market.

In Blue Area, the sweet shops were filled with customers from the nearby offices.

Some people working in various sweet shops in Rawalpindi said the sale of both the milk based sweet like rabri, peda, rasbari, burfi, etc., and flour based sweet like laddu, metai, etc., saw a dramatic increase in the afternoon.

“For me the best way to celebrate something is to invite my friends over a dinner or distribute sweets among them to show them my feelings,” said Jamshed Ali, who was buying sweets from a local shop to celebrate the court’s decision in favour of CJ.
