GUJRANWALA, March 8: A man was shot dead allegedly by his former brothers-in-law in Pir Kot village, Ghakkhar Town, on Friday.

Sabir Husain divorced his wife as she was issueless. On Friday, he was sitting in the compound of his house when Nasir, Babar and Sajjad came there and shot him dead following an exchange of hot words.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.

BAIL REJECTED: The bail application of a rapist was rejected by the sessions court here on Friday.

Afzaal of Nathoki village kidnapped a girl and prepared a fake marriage deed with the help of his accomplice, Asif. Later, they raped the girl and escaped.

Police registered a case under the Hudood Ordinance against the accused, but Afzaal got an interim bail from court.

An additional session judge rejected his interim bail while the police arrested him from the court and sent him to jail.
