KARACHI, July 19: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is carrying out relief activities in the areas of Sindh and Balochistan devastated by the rains and flood and so far it has dispatched goods worth Rs15 million.
The deputy convener of the MQM coordination committee, Shaikh Liaquat Hussain, disclosed this while speaking at a press conference held at the offices of the Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation (KKF), here on Thursday.
He said that the Muttahida was the only party which started relief activities in the flood-hit areas and its volunteers were still busy in providing relief to the people of the devastated areas.
Mr Hussain recalled that MQM chief Altaf Hussain was the first to donate Rs5 million to the Presidential Relief Fund for flood victims.
He lamented that the opposition parties had wasted millions of rupees in the multi-party conference held in London but they did not bother to help the flood-hit people.
Mr Hussain appealed to the masses to help the KKF continue its relief operation by making donations.
