Tax on chickens demanded

TIMERGARA, March 8: Poultry farmers of Dir District, in a joint press statement, have demanded of the government to levy tax on chicken supplied from Punjab.

Haji Khaliquz Zaman, Naimat Ullah, Mohammad Shafiq and Mohammed Tahir said that over 10,000 chickens were being sent to Dir from Punjab, which also carried various diseases.

They said there were no veterinary doctor and proper laboratory in the district to check spread of chicken diseases.

They also demanded of the government to appoint vets and set up laboratory to prevent poultry diseases.
