OKARA, July 12: Civil Judge Malik Nisar, who was kidnapped from Lahore on July 3, was freed on Wednesday after his family gave the kidnappers Rs4 million and a car in ransom.
The judge belongs to Okara and is serving in Pasrur, Sialkot district.
Sources said the judge was kept in detention near Bannu for eight days. During this period the kidnappers remained in contact with the family.
On Wednesday morning, the kidnappers called the judge’s family and demanded Rs5 million for his release, but later agreed to release him for Rs4 million and the car in his use.
Later in the evening, two of the judge’s family men went to the kidnappers, gave them the cash and car, secured his release and brought him to Okara. — Correspondent
