KARACHI, July 10: A record cargo volume of 117,000 tons comprising 102,000 tons of import and 15,000 tons of export tonnage was handled during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Berthing was active as three ships were accommodated berths. Meanwhile, two more container ships also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 70 per cent as seven ships, Maersk Virginia, Sum Shin, Sea Lion, S.D. Glor, Yanaseni, Lady Jasmine and Centurion, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, furnace oil canola seeds, chemicals and iron ore.

Sailing was slow as only one ship, Centurion left the port.
