SANGHAR, June 2: The bail plea of former DIG of Mirpurkhas Rana Salimullah Khan was rejected by district and sessions judge Kausar Sultana Hussain on Saturday. Rana Salimullah, facing a kidnapping case, is kept in the Mirpurkhas district jail.

He had been arrested in Islamabad in another case about two months back and had been brought to Sindh in a special plane.

He had been granted bail in the first case registered against him in Mirpurkhas, but later a second case was lodged against him by Amrio Bheel, accusing him of kidnapping the complainant’s wife, sister-in-law and other family members.

Mr Salimullah has rejected the accusation and said that the women had been taken for identification because it was suspected that they were daughters of Mannu Bheel. The Supreme Court, he said, had taken suo motu notice of the Mannu Bheel case and he was carrying out the investigation on the orders of the apex court.

Mr Salimullah has also offered to be a witness and provide evidence in the chief justice case. His counsel Salahuddin Panhwar and S. M. Saleem have said they will appeal the case in the Sindh High Court.
