KARACHI, May 30: Jamil Bugti, son of Jamhoori Watan Party leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, has called for a single platform for the Baloch people to continue the struggle for their rights more effectively.

“Following the martyrdom of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, the Baloch nation stands dispersed,” he observed while addressing a press conference at his residence here on Wednesday.

He said that Nawab Bugti had devoted his entire life to the efforts towards unity of the Baloch people and he had proposed formation of a single party to lead the Baloch nation.

Jamil Bugti was of the view that Nawab Khair Bux Marri and Sardar Attaullah Khan Mengal could play a key role in getting the Baloch people united on a single platform.

He said the JWP, under the leadership of Barhamdagh Bugti, was carrying on the mission of Nawab Bugti for Baloch unity. He said that the JWP legislators who had refused to quit the assemblies stood expelled from the party as they had opted for pursuing the agenda of the secret agencies.

In reply to a question, Jamil Bugti said that the agencies had succeeded in splitting the JWP but the party still enjoyed considerable support from the masses.

He said the JWP would not participate in the upcoming general elections if they were held under Gen Pervez Musharraf.

He recalled that after killing Nawab Bugti, the government had claimed that the situation in Balochistan would start improving.
