Testing of anti-tank missiles held

ISLAMABAD, March 1: Vice Chief of Army Staff, Gen Mohammad Yusaf Khan witnessed a spectacular fire power demonstration of indigenously manufactured missiles by Cobra Gunship helicopters in a night training exercise during his visit to an exercise area on Friday.

Cobra helicopters successfully engaged targets with indigenously manufactured anti-tank missiles having a range of over 3.5 kilometres.

Gen Mohammad Yusaf Khan met the pilots and technicians of Army Aviation Combat Group who took part in the live firing demonstration.

He appreciated the accuracy of fire, standard of training and professional skills.

“Combat efficiency and precision in hitting the targets have further enhanced his confidence in operational capability of the men and material,” he added. Senior army officers were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, on arrival, the Vice Chief of Army Staff was received by the Corps Commander Lt-Gen Syed Mohammad Amjad. It was followed by a comprehensive briefing on operational plan and the state of preparedness of the troops. The VCOAS expressed his satisfaction with the high state of preparedness and alertness of the officers and jawans.—APP
