KARACHI, May 23: The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation Labour Union on Wednesday expressed concern over the death of workers during duty hours and asked for the provision of proper safety kits.

The central executive committee of the union met here with its President, Mohammad Usman Baloch, which discussed various problems being faced by the workers. Speakers said that the number of those who had died during duty hours this year had reached 11.

They said workers were sacrificing their lives in order to ensure the supply of power to the consumers, but most of the employees were working on a temporary basis. They demanded of the authorities concerned to provide jobs to the heirs.— A Reporter
