KARACHI, May 11: Five ships carrying chemicals, general cargo and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where 10 ships including three tankers, four containers vessels and three with general cargo were accommodated berths. Notable among them were Harmony, Oel Express, Makran, Xiang Cheng and Johar.

Sailing was also active as eight ships, Y.M. Fortune, Hyundai Highway, Harmony, Banglar Maya, Chemstar Brave, Rickmers Chennai and Asian Queen left the port. Five vessels, Nyzdan, Tarpon Santiago, Iran Baabaei, Johar and Oel Esteem are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total tonnage of 84,919 tons comprising 19,309 tons of export cargo including 5,752 tons of cement and 65,610 tons of import tonnage was handled on Friday.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Stolt Pindo with chemicals, Eric G. Gibson, Bunga Terasek, Wan Hai-301 with containers and Bolan with general cargo.
