RAWALPINDI, March 29: A batch of 119 Pakistanis deported from Spain for overstaying and having entered the country illegally arrived in Islamabad on Thursday. A special flight carrying the deportees and 135 security personnel of Spain landed at the Islamabad airport at 12.30pm.

The deportees were handed over to FIA authorities.

An FIA official said eight of the deportees belonged to Rawalpindi and the remaining to Gujranwala. He said that they were aged between 22 and 35 years.

He said that they were allowed to go after their particulars were taken by FIA officials as none of them was involved in any unlawful activity.

The deportees said they had paid up to Rs900,000 to travel agents in an attempt to reach Europe and to get better job.
